Growing Up
I'm excited, but I'm scared at the same time. I look at some of the people that I went to school with and some of them are parents. Like full on parents! I personally don't see myself encountering parenthood until I'm like 28 maybe.
So I'm excited that one day I may be a mom and then I'm also scared because I don't want to mess up. Listening to all the blogs and reading all the articles saying that no parent is perfect and we all mess up blah blah blah. But I've never come across an article talking about the insecurities and worries of a mom-to-be.
I have many times looked at my parents and wondered, why did they do that for me? As children, I guess we would never understand unless it is explained to us or until we become parents ourselves. Our parents always stress to us that it is hard to be them, and I agree.
Even though they may teach us the ins and outs of parenting, when we get to be parents ourselves, situations will always arise where you'll say "mom definitely didn't teach me that!" I believe that with much patience, a bit of guidance and lots of love, everyone can be the best mom or dad that they can be.
